I am writing to inform you of several things that are of incredible importance during this unique time in history. As you know, the situation is ever evolving and rapidly changing. Last night your ministerial staff met with our deacons for a time of prayer and discussion about how we as a body of believers should respond to these ever-changing circumstances our world is facing. We resolved that we must BE THE CHURCH to a world that needs to see an unshakable faith that is based on an UNCHANGING GOD. As a church, we are being forced to make some incredibly difficult decisions, and we believe that communication is essential. I pray you will take the time to prayerfully read through this update and join us in coming together during this challenging time.
First and foremost, the church must respond with great faith and great wisdom. It is absolutely important that we do not panic and we do not fear. Yes, there are reasons to be concerned and make good decisions, but we must lead the way in showing the world how to trust God with a hope that is tied to a Kingdom not of this world. During this time, we want to make sure and help as many people as possible. If at any time you need help, we are here for you. If you need someone to make a grocery run, pick up medicines for you or anything else we are here for you. Call the church office at 903-583-7288 or email us at email@example.com. At this point, the church office will remain open Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 5:00 PM. We are here to serve you and minister to you. We are also here to pray with you. If you’re feeling anxious, or fearful, please don’t hesitate to reach out, so we can pray with you and encourage you.
Second, we want to streamline as much information as possible. Look for the latest updates on our church website at www.boydbaptist.org, or on our church Facebook page, Boyd Baptist Church.
Third, at this point we are moving to online worship services. Every Saturday afternoon, Sunday’s worship service will be uploaded to YouTube. We are easy to find there, just look for Boyd Baptist Church and you will find us. Also, after our weekly worship service is uploaded we will email you a link that will allow you to go directly to this week’s worship service. Shelia and I will also be going live doing what we are calling, “A Devo from our home to your home,” each Wednesday evening at 6:30 on Boyd’s Facebook page. If you prefer another form of media, we also broadcast our worship services on WJFM 91.1FM each Sunday morning at 11:00AM. I encourage you to join me in using these resources. In these trying times we need each other and we desperately need to be in the Lord’s presence as a body of believers.
Fourth, it is so important at this time that the church remain faithful in our giving. Thankfully, we live in a day and age where giving to the Lord and His church is easier than it’s ever been. There are three ways you can currently give:
1. Mail: 3707 N. State HWY 78, Bonham, TX 75418
2. You can personally deliver your tithe to the church during business hours.
3. You can give online at www.boydbaptist.org
Ministry is needed more than ever and your faithful giving will be able to help us continue to do this during these challenging times. In unique times, we should also be expecting unique ministry opportunities.
Finally, remember that while much of what is happening around us is shocking, overwhelming and confusing, God is still on His throne. He is neither shocked nor surprised. Remember the words of the Apostle Paul, 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.” As I told you last Sunday, I fully believe this is going to be a time we look back on and say, “The enemy meant this for bad, but God meant it for good!”
Your church is praying for you and we all are walking through uncharted waters together. Please remember the word, “together.” You are not alone! I love you and look forward to the day we are standing on the other side of COVID-19.
Until the whole world hears,
