Vision & Mission
The following five focal points represent the vision for our church:
A. Every Member A Minister: We challenge every member of our church to discover their spiritual gifts and find their ministry or ministries to which God has called them. May we all be “in the ministry” of our Lord Jesus.
B. Every Member A Missionary: We challenge every member to be “on mission” for Christ. We challenge every member to not only initiate and be personally involved in mission projects here in our community, but also to take at least one mission trip at some point in their life.
C. Ministry Focus: Reaching Children, Boyd Baptist Church has a rich heritage of ministering to the children of our area. As we prayerfully examined our current efforts to reach children, three things became evident:
D. Mission Focus: One of the glaring facts we discovered is the rapid growth in our area. We feel it is time for our church to launch an initiative to reach our local and rural communities. In the course of this discussion, we felt as if God had already begun to open the eyes and hearts of our congregation. The growth of the Hispanic American population has exceeded even the boldest projections of demographic experts. Dr. Mike Gonzalez, Director of the Hispanic Initiative of the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, came and spoke with us to help determine the needs.

C. Ministry Focus: Reaching Children, Boyd Baptist Church has a rich heritage of ministering to the children of our area. As we prayerfully examined our current efforts to reach children, three things became evident:
- In our modern-day society, children are growing up faster than ever. Many children are facing issues that children in the previous generations did not face until much later in life. We feel a since of urgency to intensify our efforts in reaching these children at a much younger age.
- God is already working in a mighty way in our children’s ministry. Our King's Kids Ministry and Kid's Church is evidence of God’s Hand on our children’s ministry.
- Our best opportunity to break the generational curse many of our children are experiencing is at this young age.

- The property that is adjacent to the Hispanic Mission would be ideal location for fellowship, community gatherings and games.
- A Hispanic church in the Sherman / Denison area was very interested in our efforts and possible partnership. Additionally, others who would be interested as well.
- Each one of these occurrences seemed to be a confirmation to us that God is at work in this area.
